Not again…
Two entries for the night, don’t you think I’ve already had enough rants? Yes, unfortunately I’m not done yet! When my father called earlier, he mentioned about a High Definition Cam called HDR-SR5C and asked me if it was any good. He claimed that he has that cam and asked me to choose between a DSLR and this one which will be a necessity for my TV Arts Class. Since I already have an outdated Hi-8 video camera, I chose the DSLR since I believe that my interest with this will last longer compared to the video camera that will only be used for one semester.

Unfortunately, that didn’t stop me from craving for this gadget, when it comes to gadgets like laptops and cameras, I just can’t help but drool. Just hearing the words “High Definition” makes me wanna touch it for real. But then again, it’s really unfortunate that it has a completely different format from all other mini-DVs that i’ve used, yes, even the professional cams. B.. but… it’s just so gorgeous, I can just imagine how awesome our film could be if I’d use this cam. However, it also has it’s flaws as to why I’d keep on holding back, it’s just because ADOBE PREMIERE PRO DOESN’T SUPPORT THE AVCHD format, just how can I possibly edit it if Premiere Pro doesn’t support it. It’s really disappointing that Premiere Pro, the most popular video editing softwares for Windows always end up being the last to support any new format. It was also said that Premiere Pro CS3 still doesn’t support this format. Although, there are still some hopes as it was already supported with Sony Vegas, I’ve used the earlier versions of Sony Vegas before but as soon as I’ve used Premiere, I don’t really wanna go back since i’m pretty much comfortable now with Premiere. And besides, with Sony Vegas’ new version, I don’t feel like familiarizing them with all those new features (and layout) as I don’t have the time to spare considering my current situation.
What am I saying? I’m pretty sure my dad was only lying when he said that he already have that cam… Still, I really really really wanna use this cam…
(Whoa! Didn’t you realize that I’ve used the word “unfortunate” a bit too much?)
